Whereas other races run at 150% as ghosts, night elves have the racial trait Wisp Spirit allowing them to move at 175% as wisps (increased from 150% in patch 3.0.8.) This can be really useful in grouped world PvP in which you are able to reach your corpse and resurrect sooner, eat, Shadowmeld, and wait to attack again with more HP.
This racial passive ability improves in Northrend. Whereas other races use a spectral gryphon in some areas, the night elf turns into a flying wisp.
Many call this "improved death", mocking night elves for having some of the weakest racial traits of all the races.
