The Stormwind Wizard's Sanctum is the mystic pocket plane in which the Alliance's sorcerers and battlemages research, train and experiment. After the fall of Dalaran, many young wizards and mages relocated to Stormwind's Mage Quarter, where bountiful ley energies still lay untained by the Burning Legion. Led by Maginor Dumas, the magi strive to decipher arcane mysteries and uncover eldritch lore. Larimaine Purdue, the resident portalmancer, has created a rift portal deep in the Sanctum, but she keeps under close guard and will for now not let anyone venture through its swirling vortex.
The Sancum is more officially called the Academy of the Arcane Sciences, and it is the foremost center of arcane research and study today. Many High Elves also seek refuse in the arcane halls, quenching their addiction and thrist to power in a safer environment.
