WowDB (previously called "Wowdb") is a World of Warcraft information database originally created by Curse. The site design was "very much inspired by Wowhead."[1] Sometime in late 2010, Curse decided to close Wowdb. In their closure message, they refer visitors to their guild site, Wowstead, MMO Champion's WoW DB, and Wowtal.com MMO Champion's WoW Talent Calculator.
Around late June 2011, the notice was replaced by a 403 - Forbidden status[2] which lasted until at least late July 2012.
At some point in 2012, MMO Champion's logo appeared on a new apparently rejuvenated version of the DB, but it didn't seem to be running on the same backend as MMO Champion's DB. It has some content from the Mists of Pandaria beta. Boubouille of MMO Champion detailed the development efforts of the new version in his blog in late March 2012.[3]
At some point around late August 2012, WoWDB got its own logo, replacing the MMO Champion logo.
Advanced tooltips
On April 18th, 2012, a new feature was announced: advanced tooltips. They're basically the same thing as regular tooltips but with more information when possible.
