I think I just don't like the idea of setting a hard rule for whose fan fiction 'wins.' If there are conflicts then those having problems can try and resolve them on the talk page and if they can't resolve them we can vote or do some moderation or something, but I think it should be one a case by case basis, not based on a rule.)

The reverse of this implies that if it is longer than 30 sentences then users can't edit it or if several people are writing fan fiction once a page gets longer than 30 sentences no one else can contribute without permission? What if it hasn't been edited for a year or the original author(s) haven't contributed in a year? What if it is 30 sentences because they are a bad writer like me and just ramble on for ever? If this does pass and Policy/Writing/FanFiction passes then this should be combined with that policy rather than left to float as its own article...--Ralthor 16:12, 24 May 2006 (EDT)
- As currently written, this proposal does not make sense to me. If I write crap fanfic, but want mine to autowin, I just have to keep adding more crap. If you can come up with a better solution, I might vote differently, but for now, it just seems that if there's a conflict, a vote is the way to fix it. And that doesn't require a specific policy since the voting policy covers it. --Mikk 05:53, 23 June 2006 (EDT)
- On another note, stating that someone can't modify another's work except for very specific reasons is very unwiki. If someone cares so dearly about his creation, perhaps he shouldn't be posting it on a wiki in the first place? --Mikk 09:54, 5 July 2006 (EDT)
