Worms are invertebrate creatures. One type is a slithering, segmented beast sometimes with what appears to be a tiny pair of limbs near its face. Almost all worms are found inside cave-themed instances such as Maraudon or Ragefire Chasm, but a few types of tiny worms live inside zombies. Strangely, some species of worms are skinnable, while others are not.
Worm Species
- Arcane Worm (aka Slarecian Worm)
According to demon lore, these arcane worms are actually parasites of titans and other vast beings. Only a minor nuisance for such entities, they are considerably more deadly on Azeroth. The first such worms dropped free of summoned demons. Wizards have been able to wipe them out when infestations occur, but there are rumors of large nests in Northrend.Template:Cite
- Barrow Worm
Deep in the caverns of Azeroth lie the barrow worms, huge vermin that lurk in caves and crypts, waiting for the unwary to enter their lairs.Template:Cite
- Demon Worms (aka Chern’s Children)
These squirming monstrosities were brought by the Legion to terrorize and clear out human settlements. Swarms are still spotted from time to time in Dustwallow Marsh and Mulgore. Tauren make a point of exterminating these creatures whenever possible.Template:Cite
- Skullworm
Ancient cults of the Burning Legion were given these creatures to help destroy Azeroth's defenses. Many breed freely in the marshes, infesting murlocs and humans.Template:Cite
- Giant Dredge Worms
Giant worms that can be found in Silithus.
- Sand worms
Huge worms that can be found in the Tanaris Desert.Template:Cite
