Wound Poison is a poison that is purchased from a poison vendor and applied to a rogue's weapons. Every time the rogue hits with the weapon, there is a chance (modified by the speed of the weapon) of the victim being poisoned for 15 seconds. The poison will reduce all healing effects on the victim by 50%. The effect cannot stack.
The chance of applying the poison is higher per strike with slow weapons (just like Instant Poison, but unlike Deadly Poison which has a set 30% chance to be applied per strike). The times it is applied per minute is a lot higher than that of instant poison however (20 ppm against 7 or so ppm), meaning wound poison actually adds more damage per second than instant poison does when no points are put in Improved Poisons. After 4 points into this talent instant poison adds more dps. All this means that you don't need a fast weapon for instant/wound poison but you do need a fast weapon for deadly poison. Combat rogues will therefore want to use a slow main hand weapon (with wound poison) and a fast off hand (with deadly poison) to maximize their dps. Assassination rogues will generally want to use instant poison on their main hand instead.
