WoWLib is a World of Warcraft information database. The site collects in-game data about items, quests, npcs and more.
The site is the concept of three computer geeks who are avid WOW players and were frustrated by the speed (or lack thereof), bugs, quirks, and general inaccuracies of the existing database sites. The ownership of the two (now three) top sites by Affinity Media was also a consideration in creating a competitor.
The Team
The WoWLib team consists of two computer programmers and one product manager. One programmer maintains the addon (lua), the client (C#.net), and the website (PHP/MySQL). The other programmer works exclusively on the website.
The Product manager maintains the lists of things to do and keeps the team motivated (e.g., not raiding).
The WoWLib team believes that web pages should be easy to use and the number one rule of easy to use websites is speed. WoWLib strives to be fastest site out there to get you the info you need as fast as possible so you don't get ganked while alt-tabbed waiting on a map to load.
