The Broken revealed to them a new breed of dragonflight known as the [[Netherwing Dragonflight]] that have been hunting them, to which Tyri wished to learn more about. Over the course of their investigation, the duo discovered that a [[death knight]] named [[Ragnok Bloodreaver]] had planned on enslaving Nether Dragons to bolster his army and use it to conquer Outland and Azeroth. He and [[Valwar]] were dispactched and sent word to an Alliance outpost but the soldiers were skeptical of their claims and accused Jorad of being an Alliance deserter. Jorad defended his absence and demonstrated his ability to wield the Light as evidence of his continuing loyalty to his people. With the Light to vouch for him, they Alliance start to believe him and make defensive plans, only to be attacked by the oncoming army of Ragnok. They make a run for the portal where they shore up their defensive lines, only to also be attacked by the [[Horde]]. Horde, Alliance, and Ragnok's forces all attack at once, engaging in the three way battle. Jorad kills an orc on a [[Nether Ray]] and uses the ray to get on top of the Nether Dragon that Ragnok was fighting on and engages Ragnok directly. He figures out that Ragnok has a device that links the control collars used to enslave the Nether Dragons and tries to break it, only for Ragnok to laugh and say it can't be done. Ragnok then directly attacks Jorad, who uses the protective aura of the Light to deflect the death knight's spells. Ragnok then tries to attack him again, who is left vulnerable from expending too much energy drawing from the Light. Jorad again calls on the Light, using all his reserve energy plus some untapped energy from his soul, and becomes a beacon of pure Light. Jorad then smashes the control device and completely incinerates Ragnok.
